Ballet San Antonio is as committed to introducing dance to the widest possible audience as we are to staging fabulous ballet productions for our community.
We foster meaningful cultural activities to broaden public participation in the performing arts. We do this by producing high-quality full-length ballet productions and offering free community performances. Ballet San Antonio also collaborates and performs with numerous local arts organizations including; San Antonio Symphony, Opera San Antonio, SAMA, McNay, Luminaria, among others. We also perform at special events for organizations around our city including the Children’s Hospital of San Antonio, the Children’s Bereavement Center, BioMed Research, Alpha Homes, Artist Foundation’s Art Ball, Carver Library, Fort Sam, HEB Tree Lighting, Junior League, Fiesta events, among others.
Ballet in the Park premiered in April 2014, at the new Travis Park in downtown San Antonio. This was our first free-of-charge, large-scale production held outdoors. We achieved our goal of exposing audiences unfamiliar with dance to the art form and generated excitement about what we offer San Antonio. Due to the success and popularity of the performance, Ballet in the Park has become an annual spring event in downtown San Antonio.
