Ballet San Antonio opens its inaugural season as the Tobin Center’s resident ballet company with a reprise of Dracula, Zertuche’s inspired take on Bram Stoker’s epic novel. When the ballet premiered in 2011, San Antonio audiences and critics greeted it with rave reviews.
From the depths of Transylvania to the streets of London, the unstoppable Count Dracula has his pick of victims, and Jonathan Harker fights valiantly to save his beloved Mina from the count’s grasp. Set in Victorian London and to a haunting score by Philip Feeney, the ballet unfolds in three acts that will captivate audiences with mesmerizing dancing and custom-designed scenery and costumes.
