Luncheon

Tobin Center For

The Performing Arts

Benefiting Ballet San Antonio and the
Send the Kids to the Ballet program

Why We Are Here

Send The Kids To The Ballet

The Send The Kids To The Ballet Initiative allows Ballet San Antonio to provide complimentary tickets and transportation to the ballet for partner organizations such as Haven for Hope, the Boys and Girls Clubs of San Antonio, Girls Inc., and Roy Maas Youth Alternatives.

Our goal is to provide children in our community with an experience they would not otherwise have considering their personal, economic and geographic challenges. In the 2024-25 season, with the incredible generosity of our supporters and partnerships with 12 organizations and many schools, we were able to welcome more than 5,000 children to our Ballet San Antonio productions at the Tobin Center for the Performing Arts!

Our Guiding Light – If we can give just one of these children a chance to dream again, we will have made a difference. With your help, we look forward to expanding this program even further in 2025-26 to include more partner organizations, more children, and expanded education opportunities for the children we serve.

Meet

Lizzie and Kathryn
Fortunato

Lizzie Fortunato is a New York City-based accessories brand founded by twin sisters Lizzie and Kathryn Fortunato. Launched in 2008 from the sofa of their Lower East Side walk-up, the brand is well recognized for its joyful, luxurious costume and fine jewelry. The sisters source materials and inspiration from around the globe to create colorful collections in limited runs. Working with craftspeople in their SoHo studio and artisan jewelry partners globally, they incorporate a range of materials (semi-precious stones, flame-worked glass, wood, pearls, silk cords, and much more) into statement pieces designed for women who dress to tell a story. In 2015, Lizzie became a member of the CFDA.

The collection is regularly featured in VogueHarper’s BazaarElle, and The New York Times and styles have been worn by Anne Hathaway, Solange Knowles, Julianne Moore and Drew Barrymore, among others. In the summer of 2020, Lizzie Fortunato was among 19 renowned designers hand-picked by Vogue’s Anna Wintour to design an exclusive product to support Biden’s election campaign. Lizzie Fortunato is especially proud of building a self-funded, sustainable business that supports over 20 females on a full-time basis and provides meaningful contributions to the community around them (several of Fortunato’s designs have direct charitable “give back” components). The brand believes in creating luxury in an intentional, sustainable way while making a positive impact on the world around them.
