SBSA Summer Intensive

July 12th-23rd, 2021

The School of Ballet San Antonio’s Summer Intensive program in classical ballet offers a comprehensive curriculum designed for dancers ages 8-18. The two-week program is designed to increase knowledge of ballet technique, pointe, variations and repertoire; to improve on strength and flexibility, and expose dancers to other dance genres.

Auditions

Student placement is based on individual skill level, not on age or length of training. All students are required to take a placement class for students ages 11 and older on Saturday, June 5th at 10:00 am-11:30 am.

Schedule

Level I: Monday-Friday 9:00 am – 1:00 pm
Ballet technique, Conditioning and Flexibility, Flamenco.
Level II: Monday-Friday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ballet technique, Pointe, Variations and Repertoire, Conditioning
and Flexibility, Modern
Level III: Monday-Friday 10:00 am – 3:00 pm
Ballet technique, Pointe, Variations and Repertoire, Conditioning
and Flexibility, Modern

*Each dancer should bring a packed lunch and a water bottle.

Tuition & Fees

The tuition for the two-week summer intensive is as follow:

Level I: $240/week ($480 for 2 weeks)
Level II: $425/week ($850 for 2 weeks)
Level III: $425/week ($850 for 2 weeks)

Family rates are available to families with more than one child enrolled in classes. The student with the highest level pay will pay full tuition. Each additional child will receive a 10% discount. All classes offered are subject to change.

Class Attire

Female Students: Solid color leotard, pink or skin colored tights, pink or skin colored ballet slippers and pointe shoes. Hair pulled away from the face, securely styled in a classical ballet bun style.

Male Students: Black tights, white tight fitting t-shirt, white socks, and white ballet slippers.

Refund & Withdrawal Policy

All tuition and fees paid to SBSA are non-refundable. Fees may not be transferred or extended towards future tuition. If a student wishes to withdraw from the summer intensive, the SBSA office must receive written notification. SBSA is not liable or obligated in any way to process any refunds or issue any tuition credits. No refunds or credits are granted for missed classes or early withdrawal.
