Experience a one-hour program presenting excerpts of well-known ballets designed for Elementary to High School students to introduce the joy of ballet. Student matinees are designed to awaken the power of creativity by exposing young minds to the performing arts.
Teachers will be provided a study-guide prior to the performance to get the most out of their visit to Ballet San Antonio.

Romeo & Juliet Student Matinee
Choreographed by Edwaard Liang
Edwaard Liang’s Romeo and Juliet, set to Prokofiev’s score, will tell Shakespeare’s timeless tale of star-crossed lovers with all the beauty and intensity of classical ballet. Liang’s inventive choreography infuses sword fights, a grand ball and the iconic balcony scene with passion and elegance. Funny, tender, tragic and deep, Romeo and Juliet will romance audiences.
