SEND THE KIDS
TO THE BALLET

Our “Send The Kids To The Ballet” initiative provides free performance tickets and transportation to children who would otherwise not be able to attend, considering their personal, economic and geographic challenges. If we can give just one of these children a chance to dream again, we will have made a difference.

Learning That 
Moves You

Ballet San Antonio’s “Learning That Moves You” program opens the world of dance to children who might not otherwise have the opportunity by offering free, immersive ballet classes at local partner organizations including Boys and Girls Club, Haven for Hope, and Girls Inc. In 2024, we’re thrilled to have expanded our programming to include Summer Camps, bringing the joy of ballet to even more young dreamers, all made possible by our generous sponsors.

The Nutcracker
For The Kids

Each holiday season we host a variety of opportunities for children to experience “The Nutcracker,” in addition to our regular performance schedule. Our outreach performances include student matinees, a sensory-friendly performance, and a filmed version which is made available completely free to children across Texas. Our goal is for every child in San Antonio and across Texas to experience the magic of the holiday season.

WHY OUTREACH MATTERS

The future of Ballet San Antonio’s Outreach Programs envision a transformative impact on our community, broadening access to the arts for children and fostering a love for dance that transcends socioeconomic and geographic barriers. By expanding our reach, we aim to collaborate with more schools, community centers, and youth organizations, so that as many children  as possible have the opportunity to experience the magic of ballet.

Our goal is to not only provide tickets but also to create comprehensive educational programs that include pre-show workshops, meet-and-greet sessions with dancers, and hands-on activities that bring the art of ballet to life. Through these efforts, we aspire to inspire the next generation of artists, patrons, and supporters, cultivating a vibrant and inclusive arts community that values and celebrates the transformative power of ballet.
