The BSA Artistic Administrative Coordinator oversees and implements all administrative activities related to dancers and visiting artists including adherence to contracts.  This position acts as the primary liaison between the dancers and the artistic and executive departments.

Front Desk Attendant

The School of Ballet San Antonio (SBSA) provides dancers, ages 2 and above, the opportunity to work with professional staff to emphasize the French curriculum of musicality, sound technique and a strong focus on alignment of the body.

The Front Desk Attendant is responsible for greeting dancers as they arrive for class, answering the SBSA phone, checking-in Adult Ballet students, taking temperatures at the door, and ensuring the safety of students entering and exiting the building.  The Front Desk Attendant facilitates the arrival and drop-off procedures for SBSA and makes the safety of students their biggest priority.

Production Manager

The BSA Production Manager oversees and ensures the successful operations of the production department (staff and/or contract labor), including budgeting.  This position supervises all production staff, costume, stage management, designers and IATSE local crews.  The BSA Production Manager acts as the primary contact between the production department and artistic and executive departments.

Instructor

The mission of the School of Ballet San Antonio (SBSA), the official school of Ballet San Antonio, is to teach, train, and engage the next
generation of students in a strong classical ballet and modern curriculum. BSA further aims to educate individuals of all ages serving as an
education and wellness center, thereby inspiring the San Antonio community.

The SBSA Instructor is responsible for leading dance classes for individuals and/or groups of students. Duties are related to teaching the SBSA
curriculum, promoting positive learning environment, and engaging students to pursue their goals. BSA is committed to safeguarding and
promoting the overall welfare of all students.

Duties:

  • Teach and structure assigned dance class
  • Implement established health and safety policies in the studio
  • Counsel students as required
  • Chaperone/attend rehearsals and performances of BSA students
  • Create written assessments on students’ progress
  • Record and report student attendance
  • Promptly report student injuries and/or medical necessities to the Associate Director of SBSA
  • Communicate with parents of students as required by the Associate Director of SBSA
  • Cultivate positive relationships and communication, including with SBSA students and families
  • Implement school policies, class schedule and syllabus
  • Other duties as assigned

Competencies:

  • A proven track record in teaching ballet and/or modern dance to the highest standards
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work with a willingness to be involved in all areas of dance initiatives
  • Understanding of the drivers of success
  • Strong group management skills
  • Has youthful vitality combined with maturity of judgement
  • Possesses a commitment to dance education
  • Ability to motivate students to perform and achieve superior results
  • Is patient and reliable
  • Ability to execute effective learning and development techniques to students
  • Ability to manage priorities and support a busy workload
  • Effective planning and time management skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Past professional performing career in ballet preferred
  • Certifications in CPR and First Aid preferred
  • Teaching certification preferred

Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position supervises the students.
