Maggy joined Ballet San Antonio in 2023. Originally from New York, she currently resides in Chicago, Illinois, where she has been an active supporter and leader of the cultural scene for many years.
After a successful career as a corporate marketing manager with personal care manufacturer Alberto Culver, she joined the Chicago Department of Cultural Affairs. There she managed marketing and audience development for the Grant Park Music Festival, the Chicago Cultural Center, and several city-wide events and festivals. Later, at the Chicago Jazz Philharmonic, she handled publicity, marketing, and fundraising during the organization’s tenth anniversary, which included a tour to Havana, Cuba, and a historic cultural exchange performance in Chicago featuring 36 guest artists from Cuba.
Maggy’s first love is dance. She was Board Chair of Deeply Rooted Dance Theater from 2006-2011, leading that organization through a critical growth period. She also served on the board of See Chicago Dance, the marketing and advocacy organization for Chicago’s non-profit dance sector, from 2014-2019. Maggy has an MBA from the University of Southern California, a Certificate in Grant Writing from DePaul University, and is a member of the Grant Professionals Association, the sector’s premier advocacy and educational organization with over 3,000 members around the world.
