Ashley Lavin was born and raised in Miami, Florida. She began her ballet training at the age of 5 under Martha Mahr at the Martha Mahr School of Ballet and later attended New World School of the Arts for high school. Additionally, she spent her summers training at The Nutmeg Conservatory for the Arts in Torrington, Connecticut.

In 2009, Ashley received her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Dance Arts Administration from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana. While at Butler, she had the opportunity to perform in works by George Balanchine and Stephen Mills, and performed in full-length productions such as The Nutcracker, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, and Giselle.

After college, Ashley went on to work in the corporate world, started a family, and subsequently got her real estate license. After 15 years away, she really missed life in the ballet studio, so in 2024, Ashley joined Ballet San Antonio as Artistic Administrative Coordinator. In addition, she is a part of the wardrobe team as Wardrobe Technician. Ashley is excited to work with BSA and bring her creativity to the stage—this time from behind the curtain!
