GET TO KNOW ANDREA
When did you start dancing, and why?
There happened to be a ballet studio next to my preschool, and my mom noticed the dancers through the windows and decided to sign me up. I quickly fell in love with being onstage.
What inspires you to be a professional dancer?
Music is a big inspiration for me. I love thinking about how I can call attention to different features of music by doing the same step or sequence in different ways. I also take inspiration from noticing how other artists, dancers and otherwise, communicate diverse perspectives and life experiences through their art.
Why did you choose Ballet San Antonio?
Our artistic director, Sofiane Sylve, was a big role model for me as a student both technically and artistically. I was really excited about the opportunity to work with her as part of a growing and diverse company.
