Being from Westchester, New York, Julia began her ballet training at the age of nine at the Ballet Academy East in Manhattan. At fourteen she was accepted to The Kirov Academy of Ballet of Washington D.C., where she spent all four years of high school and graduated with the Outstanding Graduate Award. Following graduation, she joined Colorado Ballet's Studio Company where she performed in Dracula, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Serenade and Carmina Burana. In 2019 Julia joined Ballet San Antonio's Corps de Ballet and in 2023 she was promoted to Soloist. Since joining Ballet San Antonio, she’s performed roles such as Mercedes and Kitri’s friend in Don Quixote, a step sister in Cinderella, Spanish Chocolate and Lead Mirliton in The Nutcracker, an Amazon in a Midsummer Night's Dream, Lead Neverlander in Peter Pan and a Tweedle in Alice in Wonderland. In 2023 Julia was a guest dancer in the San Antonio Opera’s production of Romeo and Juliet, and in 2024 she was a Jet in the Public Theatre’s production of West Side Story choreographed by Rafael Ferreras. Aside from dancing, Julia attends college online with New York University (NYU) where she is earning her Bachelor of Science degree in Leadership and Management.

Julia started dancing ballet, tap and jazz at three years old! “Growing up I was inspired by the professional ballerinas I had the privilege of watching in New York City” Julia says. She knew she wanted to do what they were doing one day. Now as a professional, she is inspired by all the things she has yet to learn. Davies states, “As dancers we are always looking to improve our skill set and this motivates me to work hard and reach my fullest potential.”

Davies initially chose BSA because of the repertoire but continues to choose BSA because of the amazing leaders we have here, “I feel valued, inspired and supported in this organization and it truly feels like a family. I chose to teach at SBSA because I believe in our mission to bring the highest quality of training to aspiring young dancers in San Antonio. I enjoy working with every student here and I love getting to share the stage with them in our company productions”. -Julia Davies
